History of the Hold

Aedalu Hold was founded ten Turns before the Current Pass, when people were still roaming freely in the Southern Continent. Being a whole Continent away from another Hold, Hall or Weyr, the people of Aedalu were soon forgotten by the North. It was three Turns before the Present Pass that a message arrived at Fort Weyr urgently asking when the Weyr they had been promised would be established. As the Weyrs were preparing for the imminent Pass, only a few riders could be spared to look for a suitable location for the proposed southern Weyr.

The Lord Holder of Aedalu was on his first official visit to Icundsa Weyr when the fatal rock slide occurred, killing him, Weyrwoman Tujeye and many others. Through this shared tragedy the Weyr and Hold became closer to each other than any of the Northern Weyrs and Holds, especially when it became clear that the North was distancing itself from the new Southern territories. Communication between Icundsa and Aedalu became more frequent on a number of issues, although both retained their autonomy.

Aedalu SmithcraftCraft Hall Established: Eighth Interval Turn 192 (8 Turns before the Present Pass)

Aedalu Hold was the first hold to be established in the Southern Continent. It was established with the purpose of offering protection during the Pass to those people who had journeyed to the South, especially the people of the Miner and Smithcrafthalls.

Aedalu Hold is located at the Southern End of Icundsa Lake.

Aedalu Hold currently has no Lord Holder.
