Weyrlingmaster I'zorin

Persona's Name: I'zorin Persona's Location: Icundsa Weyr Status: NPC- Free and adoptable Rank: Weyrlingmaster Former Ranks: Wingrider, Apprentice Metalsmith Gender: Male Age: 58 Birth Place: Telgar Hold Birthingday: Month 6 Day 27 Father: Imrizor, Senior Journeyman Metalsmith Mother: Talinie, Headwoman's assistant
Appearance:Short and stocky, I'zorin's messy grey curls are cut short out of habit from many Turns as a dragonrider. His dark, muddy brown eyes hide look out from beneath bushy eyebrows, giving him an intimidating appearance, which is only enhanced by the long scar that runs from his hairline, down to the corner of his mouth, making him appear to be constantly sneering. He is also missing the tip of his right little finger from an accident in his early days as a Metalsmith.
He is very muscular, first from his training initial Turns as an apprentice and then from Turns of looking after his dragon.
Personality:
Despite his menacing appearance, I'zorin makes a good Weyrlingmaster. He has infinate patiencea and is quite happy to explain things to the Weyrlings. One thing that can be said of him is he really does stick to the rules. "These are the rules that kept me from being Threadeaten," is one of his favourite phrases when anyone questions his rules. He's also not afraid of giving out punishments. Though he may seem a little hidebound in this respect, his teaching method does work with great success.
When he does have a moment of free time, I'zorin loves to play Dragon Poker with other riders, proving to be almost as clever as a Bitran in the way he plays, although he would never think of cheating.History:
From a young age Ildizorin was encouraged to follow his father and two much older brothers into the Smithcraft. Although he hated the Smitchcraft at first, missing his gentle mother terribly having been doted upon as the youngest child all of his early life, he soon grew to love working with metal, especially when making delecate items such as jewellery and engraving other metal items. He was in his third Turn of apprentice, and finally specialising in engraving, when he was unexpectedly Searched for a Clutch on Telgar's Hatching Sands. It was there that he Impressed his Obarith. For Turns they were valuable assets to the wings they were in until they were badly scorched in a Turn's End demonstration that went wrong to the point that it was uncertain whether the pair of them would live. Eventually they recovered enough for them to be sent to a Hold as Watchrider where they spent five Turns.
While recuperating, I'zorin met Gatalia, a journeywoman beastcrafter five Turns his senior. Although they were never formally handfasted, they were still treated as if they were. After two Turns together their son, Gatarin, was born. They were happy together until two turns after this I'zorin was pronounced fully fit to return to duties as a dragonrider. His love for Gatalia warred with his love for Obarith and in the end it was Gatalia who told him to return to the Weyr, promising to visit him often. They stayed in contact and were very close up until Gatalia's death during an accident when the stable roof caved in at the small Holding she was working at the time. Knowing that his son was old enough to look after himself and mourning deeply for Gatalia, I'zorin transfered to Icundsa Weyr, taking the position of Weyrlingmaster as he had held the position at Telgar for several Turns before that.
Dragon's Name: Obarith Dragon's Colour: Brown Dragon's Age: 42 Sire/Dam: Transfer (Hatched at Telgar) Hatching Date: 41 Turns before Present Pass
Dragon's Appearance:Obarith is a medium sized brown. He has scars across his back from the accident that end up with him and I'zorin almost fatally wounded many Turns ago. He is well proportioned with a dark klah brown hide that is starting to fade with age around his muzzle.
Dragon's Personality:
Slightly vain, Obarith flirts with all the greens in the vicinity, although he no longer takes part in their flights. Although he likes to have fun, he also knows when to be serious, especially when it is time to instruct and care for the Weyrlings. Just as his rider is willing to listen to the Weyrlings, Obarith is more than happy to listen to the baby dragons and help them if they need assistance.
