Candidate Kaleena

Appearance:Kaleena has brown hair that falls a little below her shoulders, and light brown eyes. Although she is not strikingly beautiful, she is certainly pretty. At 5'3" she often goes unnoticed in a crowd (though this fact does not bother her at all). Kaleena looks slightly younger than her age, and many people are surprised that she is old enough to be a candidate. Kaleena does not care much about her appearance since she spent most of her life in a tiny mountain cothold where no one cared how she looked. Although she doesn't look it, Kaleena is very strong and athletic from years of hard work in an unforgiving land.
Personality:
Kaleena is a relatively quiet girl. She is shy and does not make friends easily. Although some people think she is stupid because she tends to freeze when around strangers, she is actually very intelligent. Kaleena might have made an excellent Harper but she was always reluctant to perform in public if she did not have an entire choir surrounding her. She enjoys singing in private, and often sings her favorite songs while working (though if anyone else appears she'll quickly become silent). Kaleena can usually be found in the company of her canine, Scamp, and her green firelizard, Merla.
History:
Kaleena was born in a tiny mountain cothold and lived there until she was twelve turns of age. Then her parents sent her away to Harper Hall because she had an amazing voice and because they wanted more for her than a life of drudgery. They wanted her to have a chance to live a life untouched by poverty.
One fine morning Kaleena left her home with Scamp (her canine) and her new flit, Merla. Merla was a going-away present from her parents. They wanted her to be able to communicate with them while she was away, and Merla seemed like an excellent solution. During Kaleena's four years at the hall, Merla lived up to expectations and happily carried messages between Kaleena and her family.
A month after Kaleena reached the age of sixteen turns, she was Searched and taken to Zakat Weyr as a candidate. She was thrilled at the idea of having a dragon of her own, and enjoys life at the Weyr.

Appearance:Scamp is a small, dark brown canine with floppy ears and a constantly wagging tail.
Personality:
Scamp is a very friendly canine with a happy-go-lucky personality. He is not bothered one bit by the dragons, causing Kaleena to describe him as fearless, though most people simply call him stupid. Scamp is very loyal to Kaleena and rarely leaves her side. He is normally obedient to her call, though he has been known to ignore her to sniff a particularly interesting smell, or to greet one of his many friends. Scamp makes animal and human friends wherever he goes and is normally very popular.

Appearance:Merla is a very dark green flit with a lighter underbelly and muzzle. She is slightly smaller than most greens, but acts like she is the size of a queen.
Personality:
Merla is a sweet, loyal, flit who is obedient and rarely annoying. She carries regular messages between Kaleena and her parents. Merla does not like Scamp one bit, but tolerates him because he made a game of bringing her food when she had just hatched and was constantly hungry. (Perhaps he was amazed to see an animal gobble down food faster than he could). She is very fond of Kaleena and can usually be found circling around her head or sleeping around her neck.
